I study how evolutionary and ecological processes shape when, where, and how species interact. I am currently a Visiting Assistant Professor in Environmental Studies at Colby College in Waterville, Maine.
My research uses local field observations of plants and birds, historical records, and broad-scale ecological networks to examine how climate change is shifting the timing of seasonal biological events in New England’s forests and beyond.
As an instructor and student research mentor at Colby College, Carleton College, Boston University, and Utah State University, I have enjoyed drawing on my experience conducting field and lab research, analyzing local- to national-scale ecological data, and designing courses and projects to benefit students in and out of the classroom.
